The government of the Republic of Bangladesh has appointed Mr. Masud Bin Moment, as the Secretary of the countries Foreign Ministry.
This was contained in a release made available to AFRICASECURITYINVESTIGATION on Wednesday.
Mr. Masud was a career foreign service officer belonging to the 1985 batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). In his diplomat career, Mr. Momen served in different capacities at New York, Islamabad, New Delhi and Kalamandu, also as an ambassador in Italy, Japan and as UN, New York Permanent Representative, before his appointment as Foreign Minister.
He obtained his Honours and Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Dhakar with distinction. He also obtained his MA in International Relations from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Boston, USA. However, he is married with two children.
Mr. Masud Bin Momen was appointed on the 31st of December, 2019 to replace Md Shahudil Haque who retired on the 30th of December, 2019.
