The Nigerian Youth Congress, Kogi State chapter has commended the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola for maintaining and sustaining the recruitment template that gave a smooth process to the ongoing recruitment exercise into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and Civil Defense.

At a press conference held in Lokoja on Tuesday, the State Chairman of the Congress Comrade Alfa Ebune lauded and called on the federal government to extend the laid down recruitment template to ministries, agencies, and parastatals in order to eliminate bickering, racketeering, and maneuvering associated to recruitment in the recent past.

The youth leader added that the process has rekindled hope in the minds of Nigerian youth that without influence or godfatherism they can be employed into federal civil  service.

“The ongoing recruitment exercise into Nigeria Immigration Service is commendable , youth from the grassroots who in the past can not dream of having opportunities in the service were now at the verge of becoming cadets into the Immigration Service without any sentiment.

“We are appealing to the federal government to extend this process of recruitment to all government organs and should be  maintained and sustained in the interest of Nigerian youth who does not know or have asses to the people at the top” Ebune advised.

Commending the dexterity and the commitment of the Director and Secretary of the Civil Defence, Federal Fire Service, Immigration and Correctional Service Board, Alhaji Saleh  Al-Hassan Yakmut, the State Chairman NYC described him as a public servant who believes in integrity, transparency and honesty in his dealing with the general public.

“Yakmut has brought a lot of innovative ideas and transformation to the board. We all know what happened in the past where the board was bedeviled with crises as a result of job racketeering, but under the leadership of the current Secretary of the board, the trend has changed for the better as youth from the grassroots who don’t have godfathers benefited from every recruitment conducted by the board.

“Some of these efforts has brought credibility to the Ministry of Interior as we have observed base on our independent investigation exercise on public servants most especially those at the federal ministries , parastatals and agencies.

“This our assessment has single out Alhaji Saleh  Al-Hassan Yakmut as a civil servants with a difference. He has shown integrity, leadership quality and humility in the discharge of his duty as a public servant.

“It is on this note that the Nigeria Youth Congress before the end of this year 2020 have decided to recognise him with a prestigious award of National Productivity Award of Excellence base on his track record as a detribalised civil servant” he stated

While commending dexterity of Yakmut toward the discharge of his duty, the youth leader equally urged him not to relent in his effort to ensure that the right things are done, saying “he is the eyes and ears of President Muhammadu Buhari in the board”.
