Kogi Sports Commissioner Visits Kogi United, Assures Of Government’s Commitment


The Kogi state Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa (Danjuma Oando), earlier yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the team and staff of the Sports Council, respectively at Lokoja, the state capital.

According to the Media Officer to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Kogi State, Apeh Mordecai, he said the Commissioner who was received by the Chairman, Kogi United fc, Mr Abdul Sule, while addressing the players during an interactive session at the Confluence stadium lauded the performance of the team at last year’s outings in giving the state effective representation and urged them to continue to stick to the spirit of team work in subsequent games.

The commission expressed his confidence in their ability to do the state proud this year than ever.

He charged the players to continue to prove themselves as true ambassadors and talented soccer players who will bring glory to the sports ministry and the state by winning more trophies this tournament

“The Ministry is doing a whole lot of work in the engine room; we don’t want it to play out in the media so that we are not distracted

He expressed confidence that his office will continue to synergize with all relevant stakeholders to make sure the current challenges of the team is timely tackled for effective performances and productivity of both players and management staff

Hon. Idris thanked the coach and other handlers of the team for their commitment to duty and hard work in bringing the players this professional height.

“The Ministry will continue to give the necessary support wherever needed. He added.

In the entourage of the Commissioner is Mr Sylvanus Akpama, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth, Mr Sunday Daku, Chairman, Kogi State Sport Council, Mr Adama Yahaya, Director of Procurement amongst others.
