A popular grassroots politician, Mr. Sam Abude has declared his intention to vie for the chairmanship position of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State.
Making the declaration at Betem II Community in Babbe District of Ogoni Kingdom on Saturday, 30th January, 2021, the aspirant said he decided to, first of all, notify his parents and family about his desire to contest for the number seat one in KHALGA so as to receive their blessings.
He explained that his capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people gave stakeholders the confidence to present him to the government, adding that he has been sufficiently motivated by the outstanding performance of Gov. Nyesom Wike to offer his own contributions in supporting the governor in moving the area and state forward in all ramifications.
He promised not to betray the trust of the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party and all relevant stakeholders if he is considered as the party’s standard-bearer and elected to serve as chairman of KHALGA.
The chairmanship hopeful also noted that he was going to focus attention on areas of pressing needs to the people, if he is chosen at the polls, so as to speed the level of progress of the masses in the area.
Responding, his father, Chief Godspower Abude and the elder brother, advised Mr. Sam Abude to carefully draft his campaign manifesto within his three-year tenure, if given the party`s ticket and elected into office while saying only those things that can be achieved within the duration of his service in order to maintain the reputation of the family.
The parents and the entire Abude extended family offered prayers for his protection and success in the pursuit of his political ambition.
