Professor Shittu Abdulazeez Balogun, an Islamic studies Professor has bagged the award of a “Most Notable and Top Educator of the 21st Century”, endorsed by ICWLS through UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu at Secretariat of Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Universities on the 17th of February, 2021
UNESCO Laureate, Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu in a release to Africa Security Investigation highlighted the mission and vision of International Chartered World Learned Society (ICWLS).
According to him, “Oxford Dictionary defines Learned as “a person having acquired much knowledge through study”.
“The Mission of ICWLS is to Celebrate and encourage excellence in all of the scholarly disciplines including the professions, industry and commerce, Arts, Public Service and so on. The Vision of ICWLS is to create an academic excellence by well articulated international academic programme that will produce creative and innovative mind thereby helping to set the highest International academic standards in scholarship band research”.
The Most Notable and Top Educator of the 21st Century was awarded to the Islamic studies Professor, Professor Shittu Abdulazeez Balogun based on his contributions to Educational development globally. He said:
“He was born in Kisi, the Headquarters of Irepo Local Government of Oyo State on 11th of May, 1969. EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS He attended Pake LSMB School, Ilorin between 1975 and 1981. His secondary education started at Lagbulu Memorial High School Kisi”.
“He also attended Arabic and Islamic Studies Centre, Ilorin between 1987 and 1990, Higher Institute for Qur’an and Islamic Studies, Ibadan 1992 – 1995. His quest for knowledge took him outside the shores of Nigeria on different occasions”.
“In 1995, he proceeded to Islamic University in Uganda, East Africa where he obtained first degree in Islamic Studies with First Class between 1995 and 1998, Certificate in Computer Applications from Suma School of Computing, Kampala, Uganda 2000, and Masters in Islamic Studies from Islamic University in Uganda, 2001. His terminal Degree, PhD was obtained from the International Islamic University, Malaysia with specialisation in Islamic Thought and Comparative Religion.
