The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, received on Sunday at the Maiquetía International Airport the Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP), David Beasley, as part of the cooperation agenda that Venezuela supports with this program of the United Nations Organization.
The diplomatic representatives held an important working meeting, which dealt with the potential cooperation agreements between the Venezuelan State and the WFP.
The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Minister for Multilateral Issues of the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Relations, Daniela Rodríguez, and Miguel Barreto, Regional Director of the United Nations WFP for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Retrospectively, last year, in mid-April, the Venezuelan government authorities held a video conference with the WFP regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Miguel Barreto, to coordinate and articulate joint actions against COVID-19.
The World Food Program (WFP) is the largest humanitarian agency dedicated to addressing hunger in the world, dedicated to supporting national and regional efforts to ensure food security in each country, especially the most vulnerable citizens since 1961.
