Amaechi meets with MD T.E.A.M, MD CCECC with their engineers today ahead of Lagos-Ibadan railway commissioning

The Honourable Minister of transportation has met with the Managing Director, Technics Engineering Architectural Marketing, T.E.A. M, Managing Director, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, alongside their engineers today in Lagos ahead of the Lagos-Ibadan railway Commissioning which would be commissioned next month as disclosed by the minister.

The meeting which was necessitated going by the plight of the federal government to making sure that the commissioning is hitch-free technically has possed hope on Nigerians going by the level of success attained on the railway construction.

According to the ever-resilient minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, while on a monthly routine inspection of the project yesterday stated that the commissioning which is slated for next month is visible going by the success attained already.

In his words, “the project will be commissioned next month. We will communicate the actual date soon as the Presidency approvals”.

Speaking on his optimism as to the visibility of having the project commissioned in June, he said, “we are 90 percent ready for commissioning except for minor touches which wouldn’t take a week for the engineers to be done with“.

While addressing a cluster of journalists at the end of the inspection in Ibadan, he stated that an e-ticketing platform would be deployed to the Lagos-Ibadan route for anticipated passenger traffic.
“I have directed the MD of NRC to advertise for the e-ticketing and we hope the traffic that we will witness on this axis will be managed with that platform.”

Reacting to a question regards the vandalisation of rail tracks, the Minister urged the judiciary arm of government to be independent and timely in discharging its incumbent soon as the perpetrators and the buyers are caught.
