Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development has called on the organizers of Buhari/Pantami must go rally to have a second thought and shave off the planned nationwide protest which was investigated and proven to be baseless.
The National President of the coalition, Comr. Aminu Aminu stated this in Abuja at a press conference today held at the African Union Hall, WAEC Building, Maitama-Abuja.
Comr. Aminu said that Nigeria, like every other country, has been faced with many challenges but there is still a nation to be held unto.
The National President of the Coalition said, “the Coalition is against the Buhari/Pantami must go protest. We call on the security personnel to arrest and prosecute them.”
He called on youths not to allow themselves to the used by anybody.
“The coalition is mobilising Nigerians to show solidarity to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday the 11th of June, 2021. We also call on the media to show support for this 4 days unity rally” he appealed.
Barr. Hussaini Saraki, the founder of GGID, disclosed that youths will no longer be passive on issues of national interest. They pointed out that the flyers on social media are early signs which have necessitated the need for this press conference.
“If there is need for any rally, it should be done before June 12 since it is a day of celebration for lovers of democracy in Nigeria” he submitted.
Hussaini said that where one’s right ends, there the right of the other starts.
He further said that lovers of democracy have prepared for its celebration long time ago and any attempt to stage a protest against the government on that day may result in avoidable unrest which will give Nigeria bad international image since miscreants can hijack the protest and cause cracks in the nation’s fragile peace.
Igwe Martin, who is the PRO of the Coalition, advised youths to organize nationwide rallies in support of local government autonomy instead of asking President Buhari and Pantami to go.
