Lagos-Ibadan Railway commissioning: All is set for Thursday’s official commissioning of the Lagos-Ibadan rail line by President Muhammadu Buhari-Amaechi

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who is already in Lagos for the event embarked on the very last inspection exercise of the terminals and sub-stations along the 156km route, preparatory for the less than 24hours commissioning event.
Amaechi, accompanied by key officials of the Ministry including Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation; Fidet Okhiria, Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation among others assumed inspection at the Ebute-Metta-Apapa main complex where work has been completed before heading for the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu railway station in Apapa.
The Apapa station is named after Tinubu going by the FG’s declaration, recently.
However, the Agege station was also named after Babatunde Fashola.
The Lagos-Ibadan railway line which was contructed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has yielded tremendous result in the construction sector as Nigerians have been able to recognise their capacity and worth.
