The Commandant General, Nigeria Search And Rescue Service, NISARS, Oloba Gbenga has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to ascend to the bill establishing the agency.

Oloba Gbenga made this appeal at a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday where he highlighted the importance of the agency stating that safeguarding lives and property, averting tragedy through proactiveness, synergizing with other security outfits in curbing crimes across the nation, reduction in corruption, and creation of job for the teeming youths of Nigeria are many of the benefits it would bring to Nigerians.

Speaking further, he described youths as the propelling force and the engine room for the growth of every nation in the world as he dwelled on significant roles its passing into law would unfold Nigeria into.
“Since the population of Nigeria keeps exploding, there is need for greater partnership among security agencies and the greater need to sign the NISARS bill into law”, he added.
However, he noted that Nigeria Search And Rescue Service bill was transmitted to the President on the 19th of September, 2019 disclosing that the bill was sponsored as a private bill.
Appreciating the resilient efforts of the National Assembly, he described the Assembly as very sincere to it’s promise which they have banked on before now, which was the assurance of passing the bill into law, thanking the founding fathers for the foresight in the establishment of NISARS.
