Individuals and cooperate organisations have been urged to partner with Chaplain Corps to enable it fulfill its mandate of rendering both spiritual and humanitarian services to security agencies and the society at large.

Commandant General of the Chaplaincy Corpse, Doctor Sam Keddy Balogun, stated this shortly after this year’s thanksgiving and prayers services held in Lokoja.

Commandant General Balogun said the occasion is divided into different segments including; prayers for the nation, the state, the military and paramilitary, lunching of books titled, ” Security tips for Pastors and Gospel Ministries and General knowledge on Church Security, his fifty-five years birthday celebration as well as the commissioning of the new members of the Chaplaincy.

He urged well-spirited individuals in the society to assist the organization to effectively offer services in the aspect of security to religious organizations and humanitarian services.

His words” my appeal to those in the position of authorities is to assist our organization with Hilux Van and other facilities to enable us serve the society better. Take, for instance, the growing insecurity in schools and religious gatherings, if we are motivated, the training and experience we had garnered over the years can be utilized to reduce to barest minimum the rate of crime in the society. Police of course is security personnel but not all of them can operate successfully in churches. Our organization need to be motivated and incorporated into the system to enable it deliver on its mandate.”

He urged the newly commissioned members to contribute their quota towards the betterment of the society by solving insecurity problems.
Doctor Sam Keddy Balogun said their uniforms is not merit for fashion or intimidation but a uniform tagged with services to God and humanity.

Earlier in his keynote address, Retired Major Adofikwu Gabriel described Chaplaincy as an exceptional organization and commended the simplicity and humility of the Commandant General.

He urged the organization to continue to embark on human development.

He maintained that several people join the organization for diverse purposes adding that a true chaplain works to satisfy heavenly agenda.

The occasion which attracted friends and members of the organization from across the country and beyond also feature the presentation of the award to the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, and the State Security Adviser, Retired Commodore Jerry Omodara.
