CLINA-LANCET Bags National ISO 15189:2012 Accreditation Certificate

Clina-Lancet has again won the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189:2012 accreditation certificate for quality management systems and excellent service delivery.

The award presented to Dr. Omelo Olohihere, operating manager occupational health physician, today at the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria House-Durumi
in Abuja was colourful as men of timber and caliber in all works of life were in attendance.

While presenting the accreditation certificate to the CLINA-LANCET, the Registrar MLSCN, Dr. Tosan Erhabor noted that LANCET Laboratory is one of the pioneer recipients of the certificate of National ISO 15189:2012 to be accredited thereby blazing the trail in quality management systems for others to follow.

“The accreditation also indicates that CLINA-LANCET is committed to doing the right thing even when no one is watching, this is commendable”, he said.

Dr. Erhabor used the opportunity to encourage all medical laboratory practitioners to embrace accreditation as a means of demonstrating their technical competence.

He stated further that the Gazette on National Quality Infrastructure was recently released, indicating that the issue of Quality is now being taken seriously at the highest level of decision making in the country.

“This re-accreditation serves to affirm that from 2016 to date, this facility has painstakingly and meticulously ensured that its policies and procedures are driven by the Quality Management System (QMS)” he added.

While appreciating the Registrar for the strides he has taken to standardize medical laboratory practice in Nigeria, Umelo stated further that CLINA-LANCET is ready to collaborate with the Council and all other health regulatory bodies to ensure that standard and quality are maintained.

Clina-Lancet is known for reliable laboratory results, “for this, we are worthy of the certificate and we humbly accept this accreditation”, Umelo added.
