Youth organizations, under the aegis of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitisation (CYMS), has commended the giant strides of Oke-Ode-born politician, Hon Christopher Olusegun Ayodele Omotunde for his philanthropic work in the rural communities across his Federal Constituency in Kwara.

The CYMS made the commendation by its Director-General, Mr. Obinna Nwaka while addressing some youth Corpers in Nassarawa State at their end-of-year meeting with the theme “Youth, the Leaders of tomorrow” as a Special Guest of Honour.

The Director-General who graced the annual occasion of the NYSC Community Development Service (CDS) on Integrity Club of EFCC noted the role of Mr. Obinna Nwaka as a former member of the same CDS during his service year in 2012 and the first set of corpers to serve in Imon Town, Obi LGA of Nassarawa State.

Nwaka charged them to always give back to the society, always be ready to make sacrifices if they truly want to make history, choose a good leader as their Mentor and learn to emulate and encourage good leaders in their society.

He took his time to highlight the role Hon Segun Omotunde the Special Adviser on International Relations to the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of representatives played in his community, stating that leadership is not about the next election, but about the next generation.

He mentioned the free medical outreach carried by some medical team from the United States of America in Kwara State which was facilitated by Mr. Segun Omotunde due to the deterioration of the health condition of his people.

That the treatment which cut across various aspects of health challenges salvaged the medical plights of not less than 1000 members of the community and its environs.

In addition, Mr. Boluwaji Adeyemi Qudus, the CYMS’s Director Logistics, also stated that the same Kwara born leader gave out free petrol to over 300 motorcyclists in Offa and Omupo areas of the State to enable them to convey passengers on a subsidize transport fare. That the gesture was prompted as a result of long-distance trekking by aged men and women observed by the philanthropist.

The Call members appreciated the CYMS for their unflinching support, youth empowerment, and creating time to attend their annual program despite distance and tight schedules.

They promised to emulate the kind gesture on Hon Segun Omotunde in their individual local communities.

News gathered that the Oke – Ode born Special Adviser to Deputy Speaker, Hon Olusegun Christopher Ayodele Omotunde is aspiring to be the Federal House Member of Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun Constituency of Kwara State come 2023.
