Four unions in the ministry of aviation under the aegis of Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC) x-rayed the importance of automation of all the systems in the aviation industry as it affects positive personnel performance.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan gave his remarks on Thursday March 3rd, 2022 at the 9th Edition of the Aviation Workers’ Week and Award Night (AWWAN) held in Musa Yar’adu center Abuja.

In his remarks, Enitan expressed that keying into Automation system in a sustainable way will greatly move the Aviation industry forward.

Reacting to the theme of this year’s event, the Permanent Secretary expressed that he found it worthy of consideration and indeed a welcome development to the industry.
“This is in view of the importance of the variable (Automation) under focus and I would like to reiterate further that the relevance of the theme for discussion by the team of professionals is most likely to change the perception of our workers and speedily embrace the automation system in our various workplaces”.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the government’s recent stance on the need for a paperless work system and the launching of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, all lend credence to the seriousness attached to issues of computerization, digitalization and automation.

He stated that the Aviation Ministry as well as the Unions have taken the initiative to engage and sensitize all stakeholders in the six Geo-Political Zones on this paradigm shift. The results, responses and reactions received from participants were quite overwhelming.”

While delivering his address,the Chairman, Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council, Comrade Hector Nnadi, stated that “as part of our mandates, we have, in line with the management, been able to traverse the six Geo-Political Zones to sensitize Aviation Workers and stakeholders on the importance and necessity for adoption of an automated system and processes in our workplace.

He added that the issue of digitalization remained a global thing as such, the gains of an automated system in the aviation industry cannot be debilitated.

Nnadi nailed that countless prospective of the Automation System abound in driving the various sectors of any nation’s economy.
